Mike has paid you good money. I have 2 sites run by freeforums.org, no cost to start them up, then minimal expenditures to get my domain name (like $15/year). Yeah, they have tempalates, so you don't get it as "customized" as you do here, but I have everything that vbulletin has, plus the ability to attach files, take a look at my site and tell me how your product is better than something anybody can do...FOR FREE!!!
It will all be there. Mike didn't want a cookie cutter site and admin is actually working on this site on the beach in NC on vacation. It will be there relax.
For the PMs ( Private Messages ), click on a user name, then click on "Send this user a private message". Also, on forum topics, there is a link that reads, "Send author a message".
I think having attachments would be a good thing. Say, for example, you want to PM someone with info about a boat for sale and you want to include pics.
P.S. nice job, it's (the forum) starting to look good.
How about a "Members" tab to list current members?
Do you think we could attach photos from say...Photobucket to our signature?
YES! The forum is starting to look good! Sorry your vacation got sidetracked a bit, but we wanted to see Mike's site get off the ground on the right foot!
Most forums use BBCode, which I'm sure you know what that is. It works well, it's something we are all used to. Wouldn't hurt to install it...
I'm sure Mike has given you a littany of things to do, I won't bother you any more...
You can now post images into your signatures. Just click on the Image icon in the toolbar ( 9th from the left ). This will take you to you "home" directory on the server listing all of the images you have uploaded this way. From there, you can click on the Upload, then Browse button. Once you choose the image from your computer, you will be able to resize it using the Resize button. When have finished resizing the image, just cilck on Insert File. From there, you can choose to add some space around the image and set an alignment to float it within the text. There is a create thumbnails button, but note that it will crop the image to make it square. Let me know if you have any questions.
Also, you may now add image and/or file attachments to private messages. The interface is the same as the one used when adding forum topics or comments.
There is now a Members link in the main menu. You can filter the results by typing in a user name. Once you start typing, it will begin to autocomplete with available user names.
Everyone should be able to see the "What's going on" section at the bottom of the home page.
There are a few more things coming up:
Subscriptions and notifications: This will allow you to subscribe to a thread and receive e-mail notifications.
Location map: I'm going to try to add a location map to the Members page, which will identify members using markers on a Google Map view.
Members page Distance/Proximity filter: This will allow you to filter the Members list to show members within a chosen Proximity of a given postal code.
You can post on here if you have any questions, suggestions, or feature requests.

Reel,
You just kinda figure more things would have been in place...
I know mine isn't "customized", but I started at 0700, doing my own configs, and was up and running with a bunch of stuff by noon...same day.
BTW, I don't think "admin" is going to like me. May be the first to be banned!!!
Bob, tone it down a hair, this is not the wild west here, Please buddy

PM' s will be up soon, thought some things would have been done last night??????

Do we need or want attachments for these PMs?
